With the 2022 Asian Games set to introduce eight Esports games for the first time, GodLike are confident they’ll be able to represent India at the event and bag a gold medal for the country.

In an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, they talked about their preparations for 2022 and plans to become one of the best Esports organizations in the world. Here are the excerpts from that insightful interaction:

Recently, it was announced that the 2022 Asian Games would feature eight Esports games as medal events, one of which is BGMI. How does this impact Godlike’s mindset towards 2022?

We were filled with joy when we heard that Esports and BGMI would be featured in Asian Games 2022. Since then, our focus has always been to achieve a gold medal for India. We are ready to go above and beyond to achieve this goal. We are confident that India will win the gold medal for BGMI and other games.

Could we see the return of GodLike in competitive PC Gaming ahead of the Asian Games?

As the leading Esports organization in India, you will see a Godlike Esports roster in Asia’s growing games. We are currently in the process of building our Valorant roster. Very soon, the roster will be revealed as well. We will also develop our rosters in other PC games when they grow bigger.

You signed your new BGMI roster in August 2021. Although you have promising talents like Jonathan and Zgod, getting familiar with each other in the initial stages would have been quite challenging. How did you find this incredible team chemistry in such a short time?

Talking about team chemistry, it happens when everyone’s mindset, dedication, the focus is one. We all share the same goal – to win an international trophy for India. Because of the same purpose, chemistry is built naturally. As a team, we are confident about our skills. We trust each other and complement each other’s gaming style, which is the key.

We have observed that sometimes players choose to focus on other things such as content creation and quit Esports. Our focus has been clear from the get-go – win every tournament possible and win an international trophy.

As a team, do you carry out any team activities to boost morale? Or any traditions you follow?

We carry out several team activities to boost morale. We play sports together, play different video games, watch movies, etc. A tradition that we have been following for a while is that team has their dinner together every day without fail. We talk about different things, and it helps strengthen our bond.

Recently, your team hit 100k followers on Instagram, and your talents rank among the most popular on social media. How crucial is the level of support you get from your fans?

Love and hate from the audience are present in every big industry. Whenever we used to get hate, we used to get demotivated. People sent many nasty comments to us, our family, and our team. It wasn’t nice to hear, but we learned that we must not pay heed to it and move ahead. However, our fans have always motivated us, sent us positive messages.

The love and support you receive from fans are unmatched. We are grateful for our fans’ blessings and well wishes. We focus on the positives, and our goal is to win every game. We show our gratitude for our fans through our performance.

The team recently signed a Free Fire roster and a Call of Duty Mobile roster. How crucial will they be in the future of GodLike Esports?
