Super Mario Bros. movie was undoubtedly one of the most popular films this year. It was probably of the rarest movies that kept its promises of becoming one of the most accurate video game adaptations. Super Mario Bros. movie received praise from legends like Guillermo Del Toro and is considered a masterpiece in the animation genre. Following its box office collection, this movie was definitely a major success for Nintendo.

Furthermore, its success amazed both its director and creative producer. Now that the debut movie became so popular, Nintendo seemed to brew something new and exciting for its fans. previously Nintendo Team head spoke about their gratitude to fans. It seemed that they are finally considering the big screen adaptation seriously this time.

New Spin-off movies in the Super Mario series

Following the debut movie’s success, Nintendo is reportedly planning to make further big-screen developments in the franchise. It seemed that the initial success really inspired these companies to make further attempts at Mario movies. Reports suggested that the new spin-0ff will probably focus on Seth Rogen’s character from the movie The Super Mario Bros. Sources also suggested that these teams might make a direct sequel of The Super Mario Bros. 

Additionally, another spin-off movie will probably be developed focusing on Luigi played by Charlie Day. This movie will likely be called Donkey Kong. It seemed like Nintendo is in a serious mood for bringing their popular works to the big screen for a large audience. Following Mario movie’s $1.3 billion box office revenue, Nintendo might also plan something for their other hit The Legends of Zelda. However, leaks suggested that The Legends of Zelda might not appear like a straight video-game adaptation. Illumination Studios seemed to show interest in making an amalgamated story from different Zelda games.

SAG’s strike impacting Super Mario spin-offs

The Screen Actors Guild recently called for a strike due to disputed labor in the industry. Previously, The Writers Guild of America called a strike for a similar reason. The strike’s impact seemed quite visible in the upcoming developments. Many projects were piled upon each other. However, the strike’s reason was essential considering the appearance of AI in the industry.
