It looks like Call of Duty can’t catch a break. As if the ongoing situation regarding the bad state of Modern Warfare II and Warzone wasn’t enough, the makers of this series have found themselves in another weird position.

The latest case is related to renowned streamer Nickmercs who recently became one the of few content creators to get his own Operator bundle in Activision’s FPS franchise. He got a dedicated bundle featuring a playable character at the end of the last month. However, the bundle has now been pulled by the makers after the streamer ended up making some controversial comments over the LGBTQIA+ community. And now, some people from Nick’s community are not happy over Call of Duty’s decision.

This entire story took shape when broadcaster Chris Puckett posted a tweet few days ago. He had shared a video in which anti-LGBTQIA+ demonstrators were attacking Pride supporters. “Americans are in a sad place right now. Let people love who they love and live your own life”, read his tweet.  To this, Nickmercs decided to reply by tweeting the following words: They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue.

Following the outrage over social media on Nickmercs’ comments, during the Pride month, Call of Duty makers took a stance and came up with their response on the streamer. They posted a tweet while informing that the content creator’s Operator bundle had been removed from the store of Modern Warfare II and Warzone. “We are focused on celebrating PRIDE with our employees and our community”, read their tweet.

Things were bound to get worse, and so they did. As soon as the tweet from Call of Duty went viral, some of the renowned personalities from streaming community decided to express their disagreement. And being a former Sledgehammer employee, how could Dr DisRespect stay mute over this situation? Eventually, he came up with his own response against Activision’s decision to axe Nickmercs’ bundle. His tweet read: “Who’s running Call of Duty PR and Marketing now? Same people from the purple snakes? Pathetic.”

Basically, he took a jibe at Call of Duty’s PR and marketing team by indirectly mentioning Twitch. Apart from Activision’s franchise, he’s also not a fan of the Twitch platform, ever since he was banned from it a few years ago. With his tweet, Doc implied that people running the streaming website must be calling all the shots at Activision. According to the ‘Two-Time’, this must be the reason Nick’s bundle was removed.
