When asked, he said, ‘You know, Nintendo’s philosophy is that they want to share one great experience per franchise on every system. So you know, when you think about a Mario Kart 9 or some future Mario Kart experience, again their mentality is we want to do a great novel experience on every platform.’
When talking about how Nintendo releases one game per console, he said, “Mario Kart 8 really was a Wii U game that was added to for the switch, so conceptually they’re probably working on a Mario Kart 9. They won’t release a Mario Kart 9 until they figure out what’s going to be new, different, and compelling. What’s going to move the franchise forward is what they want to do on every iteration, so you know from a fan’s perspective.”
Apart from Reggie being the former COO, he recently became an author of, ‘Disrupting the Game: From the Bronx to the Top of Nintendo.’ Undoubtedly, the book has the capability of becoming a New-York times bestseller as it has some of Reggis’s great insights from his time at Nintendo.
