However, as all good things come to an end, the run of EVO 2023 concluded on August 6. But before the event concluded to return next year, the Mayor of Las Vegas gave fighting game fans a benevolent gift. And the fans accepted it wholeheartedly.

In a recent tweet from Jake Lucky, the final moments of EVO 2023 came forward. The Mayor of Las Vegas presented the founders of this fighting series with a key to the city. Furthermore, he also declared August 6 to be National EVO Day.

And it is a well-deserved achievement for EVO 2023. This year’s series was their largest edition in over two decades, with over 9,000 participants competing for glory. Furthermore, the stadiums filled with fighting fans cheering for their favorite participants was a spectacle to behold in itself.
There were also a variety of off-beat participants present in this year’s series. Recently, the news of a blind Street Fighter 6 competitor clinching a mainstage victory sent shockwaves among the fans. With the Mayor of Las Vegas gifting the founders the key to the city, fighting game fans also came forward to share their experience with this year’s EVO series.
