From character creator to improvised game mechanics, Starfield is all about bringing a revolution in the RPG universe. Recently, Bethesda Softworks spoke details about another Starfield feature, which is its outposts. With this new aspect revealed, fans seemed crazily excited to delve deeper into the topic.
Starfield’s outposts are buildings, complexes, or structures created by the players, like a base. Players can make this outpost base anywhere, from any planet to any moon. They will serve multiple purposes in the game. For example, as a house, a place for refueling the player’s ships, or to develop the gears and spaceships in the game. Players can make some money from the outpost, which later can be invested in making further outpost bases for the players.

Outposts in Starfield will come in very handy for players. From base to factory for gear updates, they will serve as a place for making resources for players. This means that players can also appoint crew members in their specific outpost to make more money. Players are speculating that outposts will help them bring unique product samples and gather resources while they are busy with some other in-game activity.
How to build an outpost in Starfield?
Starfield will offer full customization facility for players to build their outposts. Like Starfield Shipbuilder, players can begin from scratch to construct their desired outpost base in the game. In the game, the outpost building will start by marking a specific place and selecting a preferred design for the base.
To mark the spot, players will need to open their scanner and place the ‘X’ sign on the desired location. After the place is located, players can start placing construction blocks to create an outpost based on a selected design from a variety of blocks and designs following numerous aesthetics and styles for the construction.
Fans are expecting the outpost creation tool to be nearly perfectly similar to the character creator application. Modules can be connected in first-person and isometric camera perspective while entering into the builder mode. However, detailed information about the style and building mechanics is yet to be announced by the developers. It is felt that these outposts will become a game-changer for Starfield fans.
Structures and modules for outposts
Statistically, players will need six resources while building the base. These will include cargo for counting the player’s storage amount, crew for base workers, total power for the base to function and produced resources in a specific period. There will be a designated budget for players to build the outpost. Bethesda also didn’t confirm whether players can expand their outposts as much as they want or whether there will be a specific limit.
