Capcom is hard at work giving the finishing touches to their Resident Evil 4 Remake. This game was announced last year and is already winning hearts with its visuals and such. While fans await the release of this game, which is not very far, the developers have been giving a lot of new information on it to Game Informer, who is currently covering this game pretty extensively.
In a recent interview, the developers went ahead and detailed a number of steps they had to take to bring this game to a modern player base.

In 2021 Resident Evil: Village was launched. Some said that the game was everything Resident Evil 4 would have been if it was released in this modern era. The weird thing was that Resident Evil 4 was indeed in development for a new era, just like 2 and 3 before it.
People who worked on Resident Evil 2 Remake are working on this Remake too. From knife-based parry mechanics to stealth mechanics, this game has gotten a number of updates. And recently the developers of the remake talked to Game Informer about what was in their mind when they set off to modernize this classic.

They simply said that Resident Evil 4 is in itself a classic; the game never fails to amaze people even today. So they had to be very careful about changing things, and keeping that in mind, they started with things that games nowadays do not have at all, QTEs.
Quick Time Events were removed from this remake and if fans remember, there was a whole boss fight that relied on QTEs. To make that boss fight still possible, they added a knife parry mechanic. Now players fight that boss by parrying his attacks.

Then the developers added a more responsive quick-turn mechanic, which allowed players to turn in an instant. This mechanic is also accompanied by a faster dodge mechanic.
And lastly, the developers wanted to add a mechanic similar to Village. In Village, players could hunt birds and fish to get a sizable health upgrade, etc. In Resident Evil 4 they decided to add a bunch of side quests that would reward players with jewels and treasures. And let us not forget the updated mercenary mode!
