Call of Duty developers, Activision, is known for their initiatives at making their games as accessible to their audience as possible. However, not always do their efforts gets the expected reaction from the massive community of loyal and highly protective fanbase of their COD franchise.
Following the release of Season 3, Activision published a survey to collect insights from their player base and determine changes in some aspects of the game, based on the results. The main focus of this survey was to figure out what the majority of the players think about the movement and the speed of various mechanics of the game, but little did the devs know, fans won’t take this gesture in the intended way.

Activision sent a survey to certain players, collecting their feedback and overall thoughts on the issues. But this survey became a kindling to the fire of the players who are currently dissatisfied with the recent creative decisions and directions Call of Duty has taken in their latest titles, Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare II
The survey asked for feedback on the speed of the following mechanics:
- Sliding Speed / Transition time
- Mantling
- Climbing
- Sprint to Fire
- Strafing
- Shooting while jumping / After Jumping • AKA Bunnyhopping
- Stance Transition
- Walk and Sprint
- Tactical Sprint
- Crouched movement
- Swimming
- Aim Down Sight (ADS)
- Prone Movement
- Dolphin Dive
Each section had these options to choose from:
- Slow
- Too Slow
- Just Right
- Too Fast
- Fast
Overall, it was an introductory survey to determine which mechanics deserve an upgrade in terms of speed and mobility. But the results may not have been what was expected.
Fans trolled the survey with sarcastic responses
On Twitter, the users who received this survey shared that, instead of answering the questions truthfully, they opted to abuse it to troll the devs. They shared how they intentionally slammed the “Too Slow” option to make the devs believe the game needs to be faster, which will eventually ruin the experience of new and less experienced players.
“Everything is too slow, plus allow us to ads/shoot WHILE dolphin diving and WHILE sliding,” said a user while another added, “idk why we need a survey just revert back to the beta movement they make a billion dollars every year btw.” And the train of thought continued.
I feel like most of the people they’re sending this to don’t use any of these techniques or wouldn’t even know what any of these terms mean

when has anything on these surveys actually had significant changes
— joey (@imjohey) April 18, 2023
I guarantee they sent this to MOSTLY lower skilled players to get skewed statistics in favor of NOT making drastic changes.
