Season 2 of Overwatch 2 started in December 2022. It brought a bunch of new things to this hero shooter. It got a new Tank character, Ramattra. Also, a new map is Shaballi, which is located at the peaks of the Himalayas and is home to Zenyatta and Ramattra. And a brand new Battle Pass with Greek mythology as its brand new theme.

And now Overwatch has received a mid-season patch for season 2. It brings numerous bug fixes and balances a number of Heroes. If this information seems pretty vague, let us detail exactly what this patch changes.

This new patch has brought one major thing to the table. And that is the balancing of heroes that are deemed overpowered by the players. It might seem like it has affected the complete roster of characters in Overwatch 2, but it has actually affected only a few characters.

Junker Queen

Tank character Junker Queen got a buff that would improve her healing ability. If she manages to inflict an enemy with wounds and kills them, her Adrenaline Rush passive ability would receive a boost. This healing effect would continue until the wound effect is active.

Also, the cooldown for her carnage ability would be reduced by 2 seconds for every enemy she uses it on.

But her Jagged Blade damage has been nerfed. It has been reduced from 80 to 50. But it also causes wound damage that stacks up.

Zarya

This ranged warrior class hero would have a reduced energy reduction rate. It would go down from 2.2 to 2. Also, the wait time for energy degradation has been increased from 1 second to 2 seconds.

Briggit

Players using this support hero would notice that her shield health has been increased from 250 to 300.

Moira

Finally, this support character would see her biotic orb increase a minor amount of biotic energy. This might seem like a small thing, but in practice, it actually does a lot of good for Moira.

Heroes General Fixes

The bug fixes would be addressing issues like the weird placement of Ramattra’s Souvenirs. It would also remove the black texture that appears during Kiriko’s Whirlwind animation. Reaper would now come out with a “take a knee” emote, or any other non-gameplay animation.

The issue where Bastion’s death caused a loop of his sound effects has been fixed. Now the screen would also not turn yellow when Bastion is healed by Brigitte.

Mercy’s guardian angel would not allow her to instantly escape Ramattra’s Ravenous Vortex. This has been fixed in this update.

Ramattra’s hero page would not have missing Hero information. His primary fire would now display a proper number of projectiles. Rumble effects would now work properly while playing as Ramattra. And it would not be possible anymore for Ramattra to have more than one barrier activated.

Tracer would now take damage from her own Pulse Bombs.

Map Changes

Players would not be able to escape map boundaries in Watchpoint Gibraltar map anymore.

The bug which made players get stuck in Shambali Monastery has been removed. Blizzard also fixed an issue that made the environment eat player abilities. Some lighting and geometry changes were also made.
