“EU Only Have Fnatic”- EG Coach “Potter” Boldly Comments on EU Teams’ Performances in VCT Masters Tokyo

The VCT Masters Tokyo 2023 is currently underway, and it has been a treat for fans thus far. Valorant fans have witnessed fast-paced lobbies and multiple upsets in the tournament. There has also been the rise of a clear contender in this tournament. Evil Geniuses have emerged as a team to beat with their flawless run so far in the tournament.

And a notable person to thank for this flawless run is the coach of Evil Geniuses’ Christine ‘potter’ Chi. Under her tutelage, the EG squad has performed exceptionally well, with them making a podium finish in the VCT Americas League. Now she has taken shots at the entirety of the EU region for not performing up to the standards.

EG coach talks about the poor performance of EU teams in VCT Masters Tokyo

In a recent interview with TheSpike.gg, potter expressed her views on the current Masters Tokyo event. With her team performing exceptionally well, they recently defeated the EU’s number-one seed, Team Liquid. Now, with Team Liquid out of the tournament, the chances of the EU as a region are looking meek. “EU sucks. I mean, I knew Americas was #1 coming into this event, but the EU only has Fnatic that I can see as a contender,” she said, “But EMEA, pretty underwhelming this tournament so far.” 

However, her team has to face the last EU team, Fnatic, in the upper bracket finals. Fnatic’s roster, like EG’s, had a flawless run in the competition thus far. The contest between these two sides will undoubtedly be a crowd-pleaser. Regardless, the losing team will not be eliminated and will compete again in the lower bracket finals.

But the EG coach feels the current roster has found its groove and would be a challenging team to defeat. When asked how did they manage to win from LOUD after they got defeated by them in the VCT Americas League, she credited it all to the team morale.

She said, “Last time we faced them, we had confidence as a team but we didn’t have proof of it yet. We didn’t have the wins to show things were working.” But now the roster is ready to perform and is aiming for the top spot at VCT Masters Tokyo.
