‘Until 2019, Quantic Dream was an esteemed member of PlayStation Studios where they developed exclusive titles for the brand. Over the years, they have been responsible for creations like Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human.
However, after being released from their exclusivity deal, the company is now ushering in a new era. In a 2019 interview on Variety, the company CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière spoke about the company’s future.
He explained, “Our objective is to be present on all platforms where there is an audience that can enjoy our experiences. We will, of course, continue developing on PlayStation, a platform that we know very well after having worked with Sony for 12 years, but we will also be present on all other relevant platforms.”

Recently, rumors have surfaced regarding the development of a new Star Wars title with Quantic Dream at its helm. Considering that the developer is recognized for its action games with custom storylines, fans were extremely excited about this prospect.

What is the former PlayStation Studios developer currently working on?
Furthermore, the speculation only intensified with a tweet from Tom Henderson. The DualShockers writer tweeted out an image of one of the characters from Detroit: Become Human with two lightsabers across it. As a result, users on the platform got into a giant debate regarding the validity of these rumors.
In addition to this, French YouTuber, Gautoz, spoke about how Quantic Dream has now signed a contract with Disney and stated that “It looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game.”

Currently, Star Wars games are abundantly available in the gaming market. Firstly, there is the beloved Star Wars: Battlefront developed by EA.
Most recently, we have seen the new era of sci-fi games with the story-based Star Wars Fallen Jedi Order. Furthermore, the Nintendo exclusive ‘Star Wars Hunters’ is coming in 2022. ‘Hunters’ is unique as it places iconic characters from the franchise in a combat arena to see who will survive.
Quantic Dream will definitely have to be on their A-game if they wish to please Star Wars fans. Irrespective of whether these rumors come true, we are excited to see what the former PlayStation developer has in store for us.
