According to Tim, Apple and Google are standing in the way of a metaverse becoming a reality. Tim Sweeney supports Facebook’s opinion in this matter and also feels like the metaverse should be a wide-open space where users have all the freedom in the world.
Epic Games’ Sweeney has some choice words on metaverse
The Epic Games Chief wants to give users the freedom to do whatever they like to do online. He also said that Ferdinand is the leading charge here with all the grand online concerts. However, he suggests Apple and Google are standing in the way

“We need to win the fight against platform monopolies because Apple and Google currently have rules in place to prevent the metaverse from existing on the Google Play Store and on iOS,” he added.

Well, now it seems like everyone is talking about it and everyone has their opinion on this matter. Microsoft thinks first we need to make every single thing into VR before the actual Metaverse. While on the other hand, Facebook thinks just the opposite. According to Facebook, it is much more about the shared social spaces rather than the VR, especially when it comes to Metaverse. Of course, Epic’s CEO has his own opinion about it.

In a recent interview with CNN Business, Tim Sweeney talked about Metaverse in detail. He added that in near future, users won’t need any kind of fancy hardware to explore the Metaverse. Moreover, Tim Sweeney thinks that it will take a couple of years to get to the endpoint, but it will definitely happen.
“The metaverse doesn’t require fancy new hardware. It doesn’t require all that reality hardware or [virtual reality] or things that haven’t been invented yet.”
