Capcom’s remake fever is something else; the company started with the Remake of Resident Evil 2. Bringing that isometric game with tank controls to a new generation was not a small task, yet the developers did it flawlessly. They turned that classic survival horror game into a modern survival horror masterpiece with mind-blowing visuals.
This was followed by RE 3: Remake, which received a mixed response from fans and critics due to its short length. Both games were closely followed by the recently launched Resident Evil 4 Remake, which turned out to be an instant success. It is based on the most popular game in this series, which is one of the biggest contributing factors to its success. The developers did justice to the game remake, and Capcom met unmatched success when it launched.
These games were so successful that they’ve started a trend of remakes. Dead Space Remake was released at the start of 2023, and Silent Hill 2 Remake is in the works and might launch later this year. And maybe this is why Capcom wants to keep going. A recent rumor suggested that this developer and publisher are planning to reveal Resident Evil 9 later this year.
