The official Twitter handle of the title informed the fans about the expiration of their license. “The time has come. Our license for Friday the 13th will expire on December 31st, 2023. Friday the 13th: The Game was initially released on 26 May 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox 1, and Windows. It had its issues that did not sit well with the critics. Fans supported the game with a belief of the game getting better with time. Unfortunately, even with Illfonic making attempts like collaborating with original cast members of the movie or experimenting with additions in the multiplayer game, it missed the mark.
