Bethesda fans are gearing up for the launch of their latest game, Starfield. The hype for this open-world sci-fi RPG is unmatched. But it appears the company has a lot more planned than just Starfield.

Starfield would surely be their biggest game this year. So big that they are not even talking about anything else. And it makes sense too; they have worked on it for eight years. But it looks like there’s one more very exciting project in the works that would really hype the fans of Bethesda RPGs!

The Elder Scrolls is a series of one of the oldest Western role-playing games in gaming. Fans cannot help but appreciate this series and credit it for introducing a bunch of ideas that many other games were built upon. But this series became mainstream with Oblivion.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion made it mainstream and paved the way for many other Bethesda titles in the future. And that’s why it makes complete sense if they have decided to remake this game.

There are a bunch of unusual details in this piece of work, though. First of all, it is being suggested that this game is being developed at Virtuous. Yes, the same studio is working on the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. It is also being said that this studio is currently working simultaneously on five big projects.

Oblivion is reportedly being handled by their Paris studio, and it is being made using an experimental “pairing system”. This system would combine the Oblivion engine with Unreal Engine 5. This would give the game a modern look, while the internal original engine would take on all the gameplay responsibilities.

It’s a good thing for them to go in this direction, as Oblivion was, for the most part, a perfect title. Hence, its gameplay hardly needs much modernization. It would be exciting to witness the rebirth of this masterpiece in Unreal Engine 5. As it is one of the most advanced video game engines of this generation, it only makes sense that they chose it for this job.

There’s no news on its launch as of yet, but it would not be a long shot if we said it was not even going to be revealed this year. The game would be revealed and maybe released sometime next year, and that makes sense too, as Bethesda would not want people to get distracted from their Xbox-exclusive Starfield!
