At last, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s team listened to the feedback. They just announced that they are working on fixing the Dark Souls series. In order to do it right, the online servers for Dark Souls will remain closed until the launch of the upcoming, anticipated title Elden Ring.
However, this latest announcement comes across as more of a relief for the fans of Elden Ring. Due to the issues of hacking in the online gameplay of Dark Souls, there were concerns over this year’s biggest release as well.

Elden Ring fans welcome the huge step from the developers!
In case you missed it, players had reported serious issues of constant online hacking in the Dark Souls titles. Moreover, some of them were doubtful of the fate of Elden Ring as well upon its launch. Because of an RCE (remote code execution) exploit that was found to allow cheaters to take control of an individual’s PC.

Although it was confirmed, a few weeks back, that Elden Ring will feature an anti-cheat system, the majority of players still had doubts.
Well, they need not worry anymore, as Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have officially taken an initiative against the problem. In fact, they provided a major update on the same on the Twitter page for Dark Souls.
While shedding light on this matter, they mentioned that fixing Dark Souls for PC will require some time. And fans will need to wait until the debut of Elden Ring later this month.

“We will make an announcement as soon as the schedule is determined for resuming online services.”
Moreover, the developing team also wrote in its message they are making sure that Elden Ring remains free from any exploit when it arrives. For that, an investigation will commence, implementing proper security measures in the open-world fantasy RPG.
Upon witnessing such a response, fans also showered their praise on FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. Most of them were relieved to know that despite the present announcement, Elden Ring won’t face any kind of delay.

Thanks guys. I would be down for any kind of anti cheat that protects the character I fought so hard to build.

I’m glad the issue will be patched and won’t cause an Elden ring delay

Lets be honest, I'm glad that this is being looked into for Elden Ring launch as well. And fixing this up appropriately so we don't have to worry about this exploit on launch day.

I hope that the security of Elden Ring is much better than in the DS saga that is plagued by hackers both on PC and on console and they have made multiplayer their playground without legal players being able to do anything

Finally saying something is all I ever cared about, even if it has taken a ridiculous amount of time to just say something to us. Thank you.
