Elden Ring is a massive game and comes along with one of the toughest gameplay designs. For any player, this best-rated title of 2022 poses a set of difficult challenges to go through. However, it’s still a video game and can be finished. Elden Ring can be completed after a million deaths and after defeating invincible bosses like Margit, Godrick, Radhan, and of course, Malenia. But how long does the FromSoftware blockbuster actually take to beat?

The widely popular website HowLongToBeat is known for its polls over sharing the rough estimates of hours invested by players on various games. Generally, its information regarding some of the major titles is considered pretty accurate by the players themselves.

However, in the case of Elden Ring, HowLongToBeat may have missed its mark apparently.
Recently, the website revealed the overall completion time it would take to finish the toughest game of 2022. It mentioned that Elden Ring takes an average of 46 hours to beat in one go. And for the completionists, who do all the quests and collect every reward upon clearing them 100%, it requires around 107 hours.
It takes on average 46 hours to beat Elden Ring (107 hours for completionists). https://t.co/ktwBBQc3wT pic.twitter.com/yVGfPE4xbG

HowLongToBeat came up with these figures based on a poll it conducted that involved taking information from the players themselves for various platforms. But not all players of Elden Ring agree with this data though.
As soon as HowLongToBeat dropped these numbers, fans presented their own situations. They mentioned how the game is taking more time than what the poll showed. “This number is 100% false,” wrote one player.
This number is 100% false. It might take 46 hours for someone that's constantly looking up guides on where to go and what to do. For a first time player that isn't just trying to finish this game as fast as possible it's not gonna take less than 70 hours.

Lol no it doesn’t

I cannot fathom how people finish this game in 46 hours on like a first playthrough. After 120 hours I am still exploring the world and finding new stuff, having seen the credits not too long ago.

Common sense wise it's a very low average and completely unlikely to remain that low.
About 90 odd percent of players who are taking longer simply haven't finished the game yet and subsequently don't contribute to the average.

I'm on 50 hours and still haven't left Limgrave and Caelid. Too much content to just move on!

Lmao what. I'm 80 hours in and I think I'm in the half(ish) part of the game. Like who are they taking this data from? People that rush the game? XD

Oh, 107 for completionists, here I was like "yo wtf" at 66 hours and still not even the full map uncovered when I read that it took people 46 hours in average lol
Aye, I'm a completionist and take my sweet time taking in the world, the beautiful and the "I wanna go home" alike. pic.twitter.com/p9bCCDpGBt

“107 hours for completionists” looks at my 112 hour play through with like 4 bosses left pic.twitter.com/b0wtviM1R5

I'm a completionist, and I collected all the weapons, killed all of the bosses main and optional. I collected all talismans and fought every encounter/completed all the quest. It took 130 hrs and I only had help on Melenia. 100% in 103 hours not speed running is impossible.

Simply put, it’s definitely not a title one can finish in 46 hours or even in 107 hours for the completionists.
Elden Ring is now available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
What are your thoughts on this latest poll by HowLongToBeat? How much time did you take yourself to finish the game? Or are you still stuck with one of its terrifying bosses?
