During the Game Awards 2022, FromSoftware revealed their latest game, and fans were expecting a trailer for the upcoming DLC for Elden Ring. But instead, they were treated to Armored Core VI, the latest game in FromSoftware’s old mech combat series.
Fans were hyped nonetheless; it was way better than what they were hoping for, and it was something totally different coming from their favorite developer. But one thing that most fans might not be aware of is that this was, in fact, the primary series of this developer.
FromSoftware was mostly a company that developed either Armored Core games or a series called King’s Field, an action RPG series. Armored Core is something fans remember very fondly. The last major game in the series was Armored Core V launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. It was the 14th installment in the overall series, and despite mixed reviews, fans loved it nonetheless.
After that, FromSoftware got overwhelmed by their own success, and games like Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro followed. And just when fans were about to forget the legacy of one of the best developers in gaming, Armored Core VI came smashing.
