EA has dropped the beta version for UFC 4 and fans have gone at it at full pace. The title was much-anticipated and has some major overhauls to the way the game was presented until now. Wondering what players have been thinking? We wondered the same and hence, this article.

UFC 4 Beta – What did the players initially think?

This year, the game had some major things coming. Firstly, they improved the career mode in the game. The story, the plot, the interactions and relationships, everything was improved.
Several players were invited to play the beta. They faced some connectivity issues at the start, but that came to a close for the majority. Many of the players were worried about the facial models of some fighters. Players wanted more insights on the new gameplay elements too.
EA also missed out on a skip button for pre and post-fight emotes and players badly wanted them. Well, what happened next is truly appreciable. EA took note of all this and decided to bring in the changes after the closed beta.
Major changes made to UFC 4 after Beta
General
- Added training manual feature. Learn the controls and the meta behind submissions, striking, ground and pound, and the clinch. The training manual can be found under offline modes in main menu and game help in the pause menu
- At launch UFC community tutorial videos will be added as well, these will cover deeper gameplay meta/strategy including ground game and submissions
- Added skip functionality to pre-fight and post-fight emotes
- Fixed an issue with lack of blood/damage when playing consecutive matches
- Fixed issue causing notable ear deformation
- Tuned muscle definition on all fighter models
- Fixed facial animation issue affecting fighter likeness on fighter select screen and in fighter portraits
- Fixed an issue with glove touch functionality
There are some notable changes to the player’s looks as well. Some did complain about this and EA has went out to fix it.
- Donald Cerrone – hairstyle and facial hair (beard)
- Paul Felder – body proportions and facial hair (increased width/volume of upper torso)
- Paulo Costa – body proportions (increased width/volume of Costa’s torso and shoulders)
- Stephen Thompson – body proportions (reduced size of head)
- Cody Garbrandt – updated body likeness and facial hair
- Sean O’Malley – hair color
- TJ Dillashaw – updated body likeness

With so many changes from feedbacks alone, we can only expect EA to deliver the best for UFC 4 this year.
All things new in the game already

If you haven’t read/watched already, the game brings a stronger relationship between player/coach, and even between sparring partners. What a player does outside or inside the octagon affects his overall progress. EA did not leave any stone unturned with the game.
Furthermore, changes were made on gameplay aspects; something everyone wanted. The game came with a new striking system. Instead of holding in the buttons, you could easily make strikes and combinations with a series of button taps.
There is a new grappling and a new submission system. You get more control, more fluidity, and more authentic experience with the new title from the franchise. Players even have different weight classes and discipline for their characters, including new sparring techniques.

UFC 4 gives players more social access as well. You can invite other players to spar and train that will improve their skill-sets and arsenal by a lot.
