Chess Streamer GMHikaru gets banned on Twitch for streaming DrDisrespect’s content

As arbitrary as it may sound, many streamers have been banned for streaming DrDisrespect’s content on Twitch. In this very atrocious list, GMHikaru is the latest one to add up his name. While he was streaming DrDisrespect playing Chess with another YouTuber streamer, DrLupo, Hikaru’s fans, started expressing concerns about this stream. To this, he replies, “Chill out, you guys. Subsequently, he was banned from the platform on March 22, 2022, for violating the guidelines for Twitch. The streaming platform took this step roughly eight days post the stream, as reported by Streambans.

Hikaru has responded to this via a Tweet and says, “The Doc tweeted that things are settled with Twitch…guess he was wrong. See everyone in three days.”

Why are streamers getting banned for streaming Doc’s content?

In order to contextualize this issue, let us understand the whole story behind it. Back in 2020, DrDisrespect was banned from Twitch and to date, fans still keep asking about a rationale for the same. While the TwoTime never revealed the reason, he has said several times that he knows the reason behind his arbitrary ban. Following this, Doc had mentioned several times that he was going to pursue a legal suit against Twitch for his ban.

In a recent turn of events, DrDisrespect had tweeted “I have resolved my legal dispute with Twitch. No party admits to any wrongdoing.”
