Dr Disrespect is a name that needs no introduction. The “two-time” world champion has been quite vocal about his thoughts on his live streams. Doc was banned from Twitch back in the summer of June 2020, following which he began streaming on YouTube Gaming in August. While the Doc still has plans to sue Twitch for banning him, he believes YouTube Gaming has a lot of catching up to do.
In his latest stream, the Doc teamed up with TimTheTatman, DrLupo, CourageJD to slay enemies in Warzone when a viewer seems to have remarked on Doc’s stream that YouTube is greater than Twitch. Dr Disrespect had a comprehensive response.

Dr Disrespect still believes Twitch is better than YouTube Gaming
Dr DisRespect replied by saying, “From a functional standpoint, wrong, I think YouTube is nowhere close…Part of it is because of two big things. There’s no discoverability, your algorithm is like, I mean, do you have to hire a scientist or something? Holy shit.”
He further added, “When we stop our stream, it literally feels it goes into a black hole. There’s nothing for the community to do or stay active in the chat.”
What he means here is that firstly YouTube’s algorithm and discoverability are tough nuts to crack. Many streamers spend most of their time trying to maximize their outreach and rankings. Secondly, Doc mentions that in YouTube Gaming, streamers can’t leave the chat open or transfer their spectators to some place else as Twitch allows.

The Doc ends his talk by stating, “That’s one of the things that YouTube is going to have to figure out…They have the VODs, they got the formula, but they have to figure out a way to create a community environment around livestreaming and real-time interaction. Because that’s non-existent, it does not exist right now.”

It is clear that despite being on unfavorable terms with Twitch, Doc acknowledges the good elements, and he just feels that the former should have handled him adequately.
