Twitch bans Dr DisRespect
This comes days after Twitch making an announcement regarding accusations on streamers. Twitch was under heavy heat for not taking the actions that its community wanted. Finally, on June 24th, The streaming platform made an announcement on their official blog that they’d be permanently banning the accused if found guilty.
After the announcement, several streamers were permanently banned from the platform including popular names such as BlessRNG, Wolv21, WarwitchTV, and IAmSp00n.
Twitch has not given any update on Doc’s ban nor stated how long the ban would be for. They released a rather confusing statement regarding the issue.
Twitch's statement on @drdisrespect ban: "As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”

Rod Breslau made another tweet on the matter. He perhaps knows the exact reason behind the ban but has refused to let it out due to the sensitivity around the matter.
look: for several hours now I have been told from credible sources the reason DrDisrespect has been banned. however due to the importance and sensitivity around the subject I have refrained from going on it. i don't feel comfortable with it currently

DMCA guidelines are not the issue
The exact reasons are still unknown. Some initially believed that the ban could be due to a violation of DMCA guidelines. The DMCA guidelines subjected streamers to take down any of the contents that could be taken action in the view of them violating copyright infringements. However, Rod Breslau in a subsequent tweet put to rest the rumors stating Dr DisRespect’s ban is not based on DMCA violation.

Twitch started issuing refunds to Dr DisRespect’s subscribers following the ban. Breslau also reported that Discord partnership has also been removed. He also shared an Instagram post of Doc’s wife which seems like a message to Doc’s fans.

The Doc had gained a huge following thanks to his charisma. He had a following of more than four million on his Twitch account. The move from Twitch is alarming to any potential streamer who has violated its guidelines. To have banned someone of high stature in the community does make a huge statement on its own right.
Dr DisRespect has made no comments on the ban so far. Hopefully, more details on the incident will come to light in the coming hours.
