The success and recognition that Esports personalities have been getting over the years has steadily increased. And Esports Awards is aimed at celebrating the very success of the best out there in the community. However, the final list for the Streamer of the Year nominees has led to some serious questions with Dr DisRespect not even being in the top 10.

The official description for the Esports Awards can be read below:
“The Esports Awards is dedicated to showcasing top class performance and innovation from, amongst others, the players, teams, media, hardware providers, games, events, and personalities within the scene. Giving credibility to this process was fundamental for all involved and the integrity of every step was closely monitored by our Esports Awards committee. We work closely with our headline, category and event partners to bring the very best annual event which puts those at the heart of the industry in the limelight.”
Major name left out of the 2020 Esports Awards
The final list of 12 streamers was let out some days back. The list includes some big names like Courage, TimTheTatman, Pokimane, Summit1g, and more.
Almost all the streamers on the list are undoubtedly worthy of the award. All the aforementioned have kept bringing in solid content every time they are out doing what they do best.
With all these streamers in, people cannot help but ask why 2019’s winner is nowhere to be found on the list. For those unclear about it, popular streamer and player, Guy “Dr DisRespect” Beahm was the winner of 2019 Streamer of the Year at Esports Awards. Being a “Two-Time” recipient of the same award; having won it in both 2017 and 2019, Dr DisRespect being kept out of the list is shocking.
Why is Dr DisRespect kept out?
Doc has surprisingly been left out of the list. This could be because he was banned from his streaming platform Twitch this year. No reason as to why he was banned has been let out just yet, but there is no chance that the Two-Time would ever return back to Twitch. Dr DisRespect has himself stated, twice now, that he is unaware of the exact reason behind his ban, like the rest of the world.

Many had insane theories regarding his ban. Although no one has really stepped up to prove Doc wrong, many believe that Esports Awards left him out on the same grounds. The Awards might have tried to dodge a bullet there, but most are surprised.
2019. What a year.
This award is for everyone in the industry, passionate about gaming, passionate about entertaining. Congrats streaming industry. Let’s keep pushing it.

It is disheartening to see last year’s winner being left out. His ban may or may not have played a huge role, but we can hope Dr DisRespect will be back, better than before when he does make his much-anticipated return.
Meanwhile, make sure you vote for your favorite streamer from the shortlist. The final show for the awards will likely be in September.
