Everything from details about the thousands of planets players can explore to being able to make one’s companions angry, players have a lot of freedom to do a lot of things in this game. When it comes to a Western open-world role-playing game, side quests become pretty crucial. Fans want to know how many side quests one game would have and how long it would take for them to complete them.
Skyrim had so many quests that some fans took years to complete the main story because they were busy completing the side quests. The Witcher 3 took that to the next level; CD Projekt Red incorporated such side quests that affected its main story in several ways.
Cyberpunk 2077 elevated even that to another level, giving players even more options to alter the story, just through their decisions in a game’s side story. But one thing remained common among all these expansive titles: the more players indulged in side quests, the more time they spent not doing the main quest.
Starfield’s director, Todd Howard, has revealed some details about this game’s side quests too. Players would find themselves going through dozens of big and small side quests during their playthrough and they would be able to tackle dozens of them at once. What’s exciting is that these side quests, at least the big ones, are said to be at least 20% larger than side quests in Skyrim or Fallout 4.

It would be exciting to get some exciting rewards while killing random NPCs in this game. But one thing that fans really hope for, is side quests that really have the ability to lock players behind the door of their decisions. If a player does something bad, like killing something or such, they should suffer the consequences of it in this game, and then only would it feel like they were playing a next-gen Bethesda game.
