Bethesda and Microsoft dropped a bombshell on their fans earlier this year. That bombshell was called Hi-Fi Rush, and it really surprised everyone. Let’s be honest, a rhythm action game inspired by anime and jet-set radio is not something we see every day.

This game, unsurprisingly, took the world by storm. Pretty much everyone was playing it. The best part was that this Xbox-exclusive title was also available on Game Pass. As a result of its monumental success, the game’s director, John Johanas, has been freely hinting at what’s next for the series.

Tango Gameworks was founded by none other than Resident Evil 4 creator Shinji Mikami in 2010. Thanks to his reputation, Bethesda gives him the full freedom to work on whatever he wants, however, he wants. That’s how we got The Evil Within, a survival horror game that was not very different from Resident Evil 4.

The game was a moderate success, and fans of Mikami and Resident Evil 4 welcomed it with enthusiasm. After that, a sequel was released that was directed by John Johanas. This game was much more polished and a better experience than its prequel. Everyone lauded the game for its replayability and the unique ideas that it introduced to the series.

Then Shinji Mikami left the company, and the last game that hinted at his involvement launched a while ago. It was none other than Hi-Fi Rush, and it was once again directed by John Johanas. The game’s success is not hidden from anyone. Pretty much every Game Pass owner has played it, and it has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam.

Recently, while discussing the success of his previous games, Johanas was asked about possible sequels to The Evil Within 2 and Hi-Fi Rush. And he gave an answer that would make every fan out there hopeful.

He said, “I think I’m never done with any idea; I would never want to close the door on anything, but regardless of what we do, I think both IPs are things that are close to my heart, so it would be great to revisit them someday.”

This simply means there are chances we will see more such games in the future. The Evil Within 3 might come first, though. Given that the era of survival horror titles is returning. Games like Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, etc. are breaking records. Bethesda might want to dip their toes in that lake.
