With a pleasantly surprising Nintendo Direct, the company showcased an exceptional future blueprint for Nintendo Switch. This involves a remake of the 1996 Super Mario RPG.

Nintendo Switch has been having a spectacular ongoing year. Analysts have predicted the drastic growth of the Nintendo Switch community in the coming years. The platform is now home to plenty of widely loved titles, giving tough competition to other dominant giants. Now, with the recreation of Super Mario from 1996, the community is more than pleased. Amidst the speculations, a statement from the original director of Super Mario RPG surfaces on social media.

A lot of fans from the community might remember the original RPG Super Mario. It is credited to pull off huge numbers in times when eSports wasn’t such a big deal. Chihiro Fujioka, who was among the directors of the original title, revealed an interesting fact on social media.

The director was as surprised as the community on Nintendo Switch announcing the remake. Answering a fan query, he wrote, “I am not involved in the remake. But I am very surprised and pleased with the news!”

Remakes are always special because they bring a lot of nostalgic emotions along. It adds to the thrill when a remake involves a classic brand name like Super Mario. Thus, fans weren’t happy about the director’s revelation. Although Nintendo Switch is always known for the extraordinary commitment, it puts into the development of a project. So, the director also feels the Super Mario brand is in safe hands. He also seems excited to see how Nintendo goes ahead with its innovations in the remake. 

Nintendo Switch is aware of the expectations the gaming community has for the announced titles. Arguably, the Super Mario remake being the highlight of all, the developers will certainly take their time to create something that keeps up with the expectations. The title is set to release on the 17th of November. Now, we know the director of the original would also be experiencing the game for the first time.
