Before the phenomenal Anime adaptation and multi-million dollar Holywood movies featuring A-listers like Ryan Reynolds, Pokemon started with a humble game on the Nintendo Gameboy. The first Pokemon games to ever be released on the global market were Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue.

The games were an instant hit. Everyone with a Gameboy brought a copy and for the first time, the world got to experience the life of a Pokemon Trainer. After that, new games in the series came out every generation. Though every game had a unique region and new pokemon to collect, the overall gameplay was pretty much the same. You catch creatures, then you train them and fight other trainers, gym leaders, and rival gangs to become the best trainer in the world!

Did Nintendo just tease a new Mystery Dungeon game?

The Latest installment in the franchise was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. The game was released for the Nintendo Switch on March 2020. It was very successful. It received many good reviews and love from the players.

What was so special about the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon?

The main series of games followed a simple formula over and over. According to the fans, every game was the same with a different skin. That is why Nintendo decided to do some fresh experiments with the series. They released many spinoff titles like Colosseum and Rangers that challenged the established norms and formula to bring something new to the table.

But among the spinoffs, none was like The Mystery Dungeon series. This series combined Pokemon with RPG. Here players don’t catch and train Pokemons, but they get to be Pokemons! The intricate storylines, cute and lovable characters, and beautiful soundtracks made the game a complete package. It was very successful and received many positive reviews.
