The open beta for Battlefield 2042 has been delayed. EA and DICE had divided the open beta into two components. The first slot was for those who had pre-ordered Battlefield 2042 or were EA members, while the second was for everyone else.
The open beta for pre-order users and EA members started this Wednesday, while for everyone else, the Battlefield 2042 open beta will start today. That said, DICE has now delayed the open portion of the beta slightly at the very last moment.

The delay is not long, however. In a fresh tweet, the developers shared that the open beta test has been delayed by two hours. Earlier, the test was supposed to start at 12 am PT, 3 am ET, 8 am UK. This has been pushed to two hours later. You can check out the tweet below.

As per DICE, the delay has been made to keep everything running smoothly and the developers will be implementing server maintenance to ensure a great experience. However, this delay wonât extend the beta slot timings. This means players will get the same time as before.
With Battlefield 2042, it is evident that DICE and EA are looking to rekindle the Battlefield franchise. The game itself adds some new elements to the familiar Battle Royale genre. Battlefield 2042 wonât have a hardcore single-player campaign mode. Instead, the developers have stated that a new âstandaloneâ cinematic short, titled Exodus, will explain the events that eventually tie into the Battlefield 2042 universe.

The first impressions of the game are fairly average. The open beta, which took place on Wednesday this week, is receiving not-so-good reviews from both players and critics. The game has bugs and issues. There are even hackers in the open beta, which is another point of concern for the team and the studio involved. Hopefully, the team would like to fix them before the full game finally arrives.
