Quin69 is a very popular figure among Diablo 4 fans as he streams himself working his way through the game, raiding dungeons, and finishing quests. During a particular stream, when he played the game as per usual, the screen faded out. He realized his game may have crashed. While crashes are annoying, they are not an uncommon sight for gamers. It escalated quickly when a message prompt told Quin69 his 172-hour character joined the Hall of Fallen Heroes, meaning the character was dead.
Normally, this should not have been possible. Quin’s character was porting to town inside the safety bubble, under the protection of the Elixir of Death Vision. While there is no clear reason as to what caused the glitch, there has been some speculation. Some fans think it is an error of the network. From Quin’s perspective, he had gone in the immunity bubble, but on the server side, this was not registered. As a result, Quin ended up losing his character.

To add to his troubles, Quin’s playthrough was in hardcore mode. This is a whole new difficulty level, wherein the stakes are much higher. If your character dies, instead of re-emerging, the character can no longer be used, meaning Quin’s 170-hour character disappeared just like that. And nobody knows why for sure!
Quin69 is not the only player to face these issues. According to the gaming community, several players reported losing out on characters due to this unexplained bug. In one instance, legendary streamer Shroud died due to lag, as he made his way through the map. Looks like lag leaves no gamer behind!
