The concept of micro-transactions in games is a very controversial topic. While many of the titles already have it, it seems like the latest offering from Blizzard Entertainment, in its Diablo franchise, has taken things to the next level altogether. And it’s not for a good reason at all.

In case anyone missed it, Diablo Immortal recently made its way to the Mobile platform as well as the PC. The new entry in the long-running series also features micro-transactions for players to level up in the game. Immortal is the free-to-play, MMORPG, made by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. Its story is set between the events of the second and third Diablo offerings. Players get the option to choose a character class. They can choose to be Barbarian, Wizard, Monk, Necromancer, Demon Hunter, or Crusader.

Diablo Immortal runs on the business model of unlocking content through micro-transactions. Yes, one can also unlock it all by simply playing but the option is for those who don’t want to spend too much time fighting against the bosses to level up.

At least it seems to be the case with one such fan who recently revealed that they found out about how the Blizzard game tricks you into spending more money than previously thought.

The Reddit user, ShiftYourCarcass, shared an extensive post, mentioning that to max out one’s character, Diablo Immortal requires an amount of over $500,000. Simply put, players need to have this much money to reach the utmost, god-level with their characters, with the six legendary gems.
