It’s been four months since Diablo 4 was launched. So far, fans have only nice things to say about the game and its incredible gameplay. The characters, the story, the experience: everything has been vocally praised by the community and Blizzard Entertainment seems to have created another masterpiece. The tension between Lilith and Inarius is being hailed as one of the most compelling storylines ever. However, not everyone is happy with how the game ends for Lilith.
One fan has ushered a discussion on a Reddit group seeking to understand how others felt about Lilith’s fate in Diablo 4. From what we see, the community is divided heavily as to whether the game’s boss got a justified death or not.
Diablo 4 did Lilith wrong?

Diablo 4 has been rocking charts. The game is being poised as one of the contenders for this year’s GOTY award and many of us strongly feel the game’s appeal. Within days of its release, the devs introduced a steroid-fueled mega boss and fans couldn’t stop trying to take the Uber Lilith down and win the highest rewards. The devs also looked focused on making sure that Diablo 4 delivered the unique experience that it had promised. However, Lilith’s ultimate fate in Diablo 4 has many fans torn between agreeing to how her life ends and being convinced that Lilith deserved better.

A post on the Reddit group r/diablo4 seeks to conduct a survey on the matter to get definitive conclusions. The original post says that while Lilith has to be killed in order to complete the game, her demise does feel forced sometimes. The post also says that Lilith’s perspectives and motivations to be evil have their justifications as well.

While the Redditor has his own views on the matter, they seem to be curious as to what others think about Lilith’s arc in Diablo 4. Hence, a discussion had to be called for.
Community split over the issue
Since the post came to light, fans have come forward to speak their minds on the issue. While we do see many fans agreeing with the original post’s views, there also isn’t any shortage of players who think Lilith got what she deserved. This fan thinks the original post may be trivializing Lilith’s actions a bit. Saying her actions weren’t “good” is an understatement.
This player still thinks everyone playing Diablo 4 should get to make their own in-game choices. In case you aren’t comfortable with that, he suggests you should play something else.
Another fan thinks Lilith makes a powerful case for herself and they would’ve loved to join the cause.
Another fan is of the opinion that while Lilith might make sense at times, her greater goal is just too twisted to comply with.
This fan thinks Blizzard may be hot-wired to take away agency from the players: they just can’t help it.

However, this lad thinks players shouldn’t pay heed to Lilith’s lies and manipulation.

From what we’ve seen in the game so far, the battle between the demons and the angels hasn’t reached its conclusion yet. While Lilith hasn’t had a preferable ending to her character, we believe we’ll be seeing more of her in the days to come.
