The fandom of video games sometimes shows its dedication in the strangest yet wholesome ways. And fans of Destiny 2 have proven this fact yet again. A week ago, popular actor Lance Reddick, who played an important role in this game, and many big-budget movies such as John Wick, passed away at the age of 60.

To show their respect for the acclaimed actor and his in-game character, fans went ahead and just crowded The Tower. This is where his in-game character Commander Zavala can be found. This was done in order to give him and his character the perfect farewell. But it appears the game’s developers have other plans.

Bungie plans to bring back Lance Reddick’s character in future Destiny 2 content!

Captain Zavala is a crucial character in Destiny 2, and the actor that played this character, Lance Reddick, was not only a performer but even a huge fan of this game himself. In fact, there are some sources that suggest he was playing the game the night before he passed.

It would only make sense if Bungie does not want to let such a dedicated performer go. Hence, in a recent blog post, Bungie officially announced that Lance did some work for upcoming Destiny 2 content before passing, and fans would be able to hear him in that content.

The post said “As an actor, musician, gamer, and family man, the passion Lance brought to the things he loved was reflected in the eyes and hearts of all who loved him. For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime.”
