Rockstar has truly disappointed fans with a Red Dead Redemption port for Nintendo’s Switch and PlayStation 4. Priced at $50, this new Red Dead Redemption port seemed to dishearten fans as they wanted a remake of this fan-favorite title. Released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption received an immense amount of love from fans. The hype went so high that fans were actually demanding a remastered version of this wild-west RPG. 

However, quite like a bad dream, fans are only going to receive a port for PlayStation 4 and Switch, which will play the DLC version of Read Dead Redemption. Although publishers felt the price tag was commercially accurate, the internet seemed to be divided in terms of opinions. 

Rockstar’s decision about Red Dead port tenses fans

Take Two recently announced a new port for Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 4 and Switch. However, developers won’t be offering the game’s multiplayer platform in this port. Therefore, the hefty price tag of $50 didn’t seem worthwhile at all for many fans. In fact, fans spoke about a remake of this fan favorite wild-west for that price.

Now that rumors about Grand Theft Auto VI are also brewing, fans are quite tensed about Rockstar’s intentions with this title. In 2022, Rockstar first announced about Grand Theft Auto VI was being developed by the team. It certainly brought many expectations from the fans. 

However, Rockstar’s plan with Red Dead Redemption port, with such an expensive price tag, now left fans in serious tension about the upcoming GTA title. Although there are criticisms, some fans still held onto their love for Rockstar Games.

Recently one Read Dead fan took to his Reddit to speak about his thoughts on this matter- “Even though Rockstar has money-grabbers like GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption 2 was STILL an amazing game!”

Fans raise support for Rockstar despite Red Dead port criticisms

Although this port broke the heart of many Red Dead fans making them tensed about the upcoming GTA title, some people were spotted keeping faith in the developer team- “Realism: R*, like all companies, makes good and bad decisions. RD was a bad one, hopefully GTA6 will be a good one.”

Fans commented they believe like Read Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5, GTA 6 will also be a true masterpiece- “Rdr2 was a masterpiece, gta v masterpiece, gta vl will be a masterpiece too.

The Red Dead community showered their support for Rockstar games, stating that the team promised nothing about the Red Dead Redemption remake.

In all fairness rockstar never mentioned anything nor promised anything about red dead 1. Youtubers just assumed things and got burned.”

However, some fans were visibly upset with the price tag of the port- “I’m not upset about the port. I’m just disappointed in the price.”
