Despite Initial Backlash, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sets New Milestone in the Streaming Community

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are finally available for the fans to enjoy. But it faced many criticisms from fans because of glitches and performance issues. But recent data about the games revealed they achieved an epic milestone in the streaming community since they hit the stores.

The Pokemon series is one of the most successful IPs owned by Nintendo. It’s been over two decades since the first generation titles of the series, Red and Green, were introduced to the world. Now, they released the latest and ninth generation game, Scarlet and Violet, for the Switch consoles.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the #1 livestreamed game

A Twitter account, Stream Hatchet, shared data related to livestreaming and the gaming industry. They recently shared information that revealed the two new Pokemon titles generated over 36.8 million hours of watch time in the first week after their release. They further claimed it was the number one game that’s livestreamed lately.

Further, Stream Hatchet also revealed the Top Five streamers, who hugely contributed to that massive number. In the first place was the Japanese streamer Unko-chan with 1.3 million hours watched. Further, it also featured the ‘YouTube Streaming Queen’ Valkyrae at fourth place with 619,000 hours watched. The other streamers were Kuzuha, knekro, and Miko-Chan.

Scarlet Hatched also shared another data, revealing it to be the first Pokemon title that got so many hours of watch time. The game before Scarlet and Violet, Pokemon Arceus, had only 26.2 million hours of watch time. So, these two new titles had 10 million more hours than their predecessor.

Undoubtedly, it is an excellent feat for the two Nintendo titles to get such a response despite so much criticism. It was the most ambitious project by Nintendo and Game Freak. The players who played the game claimed it to be enjoyable, but the problem was the Switch’s outdated technology. Possibly, the results could have been better if it didn’t have performance issues.

Fans hail Valkyrae for this incredible accomplishment

The Valkyrae fans swarmed the comment section of this tweet. They claimed they enjoyed watching the YouTube streamer play Pokemon Violet on her latest streams. Fans also shared the game was already fun to watch, but she made it more fun for them to watch.
