Sony’s PlayStation Showcase is one of the biggest gaming events fans look forward to many months in advance. It’s been 20 months since the last PlayStation Showcase in September 2021, and fans expected huge reveals from the 2023 showcase. Interestingly, the event didn’t turn out to be a disappointment as Sony amused the fandom with exciting reveals.

Furthermore, Spidey fans were able to take a sneak glimpse of the much-awaited PlayStation-exclusive title, Spider-Man 2. From Metal Gear Solid to Alan Wake 2, fans were amused by Sony’s planning for upcoming PlayStation 5 games. Unfortunately, PlayStation Showcase still missed out on some fan-favorite titles, making fans expect another PlayStation Showcase.

  • Bloodborne II

Several people agree that Bloodborne is a true gem from the last decade of gaming. Although the soul difficulty gives players a hard time, such challenges keep players excited. Owing to its enormous popularity and success, fans are indeed expecting a Bloodborne sequel to be announced.

Therefore, several players were hoping to hear any good news from developers on Bloodborne 2 development. Unfortunately, the PlayStation Showcase just ended up in disappointment for the Bloodborne fandom.

At the moment, there’s no official announcement regarding the release of Bloodborne 2. There’s also no confirmation whether a sequel will be made in the first place.

  • The Last of Us: Factions

The Last of Us is indeed one of the most popular and renowned franchises in the community. Furthermore, the success of HBO’s TV adaptation of The Last of Us brought more spotlight to the franchise’s rich history. Indeed, the success of HBO’s TLOU series was breathtaking and took over the internet with just the release of Episode 1.

 

Owing to the enormous success and launch of Last of Us Part 1 for PC, fans were expecting big reveals from Naughty Dog for PlayStation 2023 Showcase. Interestingly, shortly after the release of TLOU Part 2, Naughty Dog confirmed that the multiplayer mode initially introduced in Part 1 called Factions had been delayed.

Surprisingly, the developers confirmed later this year that the new Factions mode had increased in scope and warranted its own separate game. Since Neil Druckmann’s official announcement, fans are looking forward to any insignificant detail from Naughty Dog about TLOU: Fraction’s development.

  • Death Stranding 2

Back in 2022, Hideo Kojima shocked the gaming community to its core after the announcement of the sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. The announcement was held back in Game Awards 2022 and confirmed the starring of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, and Troy Baker. DS2 will also star franchise newcomers Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.

Despite being one of the biggest talked topics, Kojima was missing from the biggest PlayStation 2023 Showcase. The game is still in early development, so the team can be prioritizing working on it instead of releasing a demo.

  • Silent Hill 2: Remake

Silent Hill fans have been losing to their cool, after the announcement of Silent Hill 2 Remake. It is a 2001 survival horror game developed by Team Silent and published by Konami. It’s one of the best horror games ever made, mainly because it is keenly aware of that blurry line between nightmare and conscious fear.

Naturally, fans are excited for developers to answer fans’ questions and reveal more about the game. Unfortunately, Konami hasn’t spilled any tea about the remake progress and there was no information revealed in the PlayStation Grand Showcase 2023.

  • Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel fans have been looking forward to the release of another blockbuster AAA game after Spider-Man. Spider-Man 2 was the hot topic for the PlayStation Showcase 2023. Furthermore, Sony teased a lot of gameplay footage leaving Spidey fans in a state of frenzy.

Unfortunately, Sony didn’t reveal anything about the upcoming Marvel Superhero title, Wolverine. Wolverine is another Marvel title that Insomniac is currently working on. There’s not much inside information revealed by developers. However, after Spider-Man 2, Wolverine is likely the next game that audiences will be looking towards for both their PlayStation and Marvel fix.

  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy has given players some of the best stories seen in gaming. Despite many of them being simplistic in nature, the games are filled to the brim with fun characters. Since each Final Fantasy story has its uniqueness, fans couldn’t resist themselves to learn more about the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the long-awaited sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake. Although it’s been over 1 year since the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth announcement, developers haven’t revealed much about the title. Not to mention, developers are mainly focusing on the release of Final Fantasy 16.

The game will be the second part of the Remake trilogy, as confirmed by the official announcement. Apart from its Winter 2023 release confirmation, there’s not much revealed from the developers’ end to keep fans’ attention.
