Mr. Kojima recently sat down with the media outlet IGN for an in-depth interview. He talked about all the possible things related to his ongoing projects, his plans for Death Stranding 2, and how its production began in the first place.
While discussing various aspects revolving around game creation, he was asked an interesting question about the possibility of not being around in the next 50 or 100 years. To be precise, IGN asked him what exactly he would like to leave behind at Kojima Productions while it continues into the future. To this, Hideo Kojima replied by giving an extremely unexpected answer.
“I’ve never really thought about that. I’ll keep leading so long as I’m around, and all that matters to me is that our roots when it comes to creation are kept intact.” he said.

Moreover, he mentioned that being around Kojima Productions will be a possible after all. “I’ll probably become an AI and stick around. You need to be stimulated in lots of different ways if you want to keep creating new things, so I imagine I’ll keep collaborating with others and taking in new things even if I’m an AI.”
