And amidst this wave of new generation remakes, fans of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive might have something to be excited about too!
Two Team NINJA games are getting a reboot
At a recent Korea G-Star conference, Team NINJA talked about a number of things. Their design philosophy and how they work to maintain their worldwide appeal. Apart from all the technical show and tell, Team NINJA went ahead and announced that they were working on remakes of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive games.
Now, this is a piece of exciting news. But the developer and publisher refused to make any comments regarding the launch day of these titles. It seems that both these games are still in the early stages of development. So it only makes sense for them not to make any commitments on their release dates.

People aware of Ninja Gaiden know that it’s a series of hard-as-nails action hack-and-slash games. Recently, Team NINJA also released the original trilogy of these games to PS4, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Though they were met with mixed reactions due to their performance issues.

On the other hand, Dead or Alive is a series of 3D fighting games. Players get to choose from numerous characters as they fight through a world-famous fighting tournament. The recent Dead or Alive entry was also met with a mixed response due to its heavy reliance on micro-transactions. A number of fan-favorite characters being locked behind a paywall really made its fans mad.
Remakes and reboots are a thing now
Given the above issues, it makes sense for the developers to go ahead and reboot the series from scratch. We just have to see how they plan on keeping the legacy of both these titles intact, all the while making them feel fresh for newcomers. And of course, how they deal with that in-game economy this time around.
