Episode 2 of Night City Wire just wrapped up and we are hyped all over again. Cyberpunk 2077 looks to make a landmark as the Game of the Decade for some obvious reasons. The event featured two gameplay videos, a little about the music, and a chat panel with the developers.
Cyberpunk 2077 – three ways to start your journey
As fans are already aware, Cyberpunk 2077 lets you play the game according to the life of your choosing. You could start the game off as a Street Kid, a Nomad, or as a Corporate. The episode gave us a glimpse of what your choices will entail.

As a street kid, your neighborhood won’t be that friendly. However, having grown up in the roots of Night City, you know the place and you know what to expect. In short, you know the streets, you know the life.
Now, the Nomad story is the one that struck a chord with me. You come up from a place in the desert called Badlands. The place is right outside Night City and your character is an outcast. Hence, you have this strong sense of freedom.
Coming to the big league, the Corporate lifestyle is different and intense. You are practically placed in a stressed environment and you have to be at the top end of the megacorporation that is ruling the roost- Arasaka. You work for yourself and you live for yourself.
Your life is pretty much inside the board room. The good side of being a corporate is your character’s ability to ‘read between the lines’- a cunning corporate fox if you will.
Life path decides major outcomes
The life path you choose affects your character not only in the beginning but throughout the game. Your array of dialogue choices will also shape up accordingly. That is to say, if you choose a Corporate lifestyle, chances are you get those extra options at certain points.
The developer gave some insight into what that’s like. He cited the example of a gang Malestrom and how, while dealing with them, you are provided with different options or dialogues according to your life path.
As in a Street Kid would be limited to some dialogues whereas a Corporate could have better options having dealt with higher-end people already.
He also stated that you could visit the badlands even if you aren’t a Nomad. The place is just outside the city and you could pick up a vehicle and drive straight out to the place and see what life is like. An interesting note made about Nomads is that people who live there either stay because they have no choice or because they actually love the life.
Badlands is deserted for a reason. The place saw many wars in the past and is chock-full of outlaws.
Music in the game
Cyberpunk has some big music in store for us, and the developers have collaborated with several studios to bring some of the best music possible.
We all know Keanu Reeves is in the game and we were excited. Sad note, though, is the fact that he won’t be actually singing and there are artists designated to that.
Some of the Samurai tracks were already out; three to be precise. The 4 one should be available on streaming platforms right now.
Creative ways to solve problems in Cyberpunk 2077 Night City
This is the big highlight; weapons, weapons, and more weapons. Now, in Night City when you’re given a job, you need to prepare for the worst. And the arsenal that is available to you helps you do just that.
Now if you are wondering how do you get contracts in the initial stage, you get them through fixers. Fixers are intermediaries who take jobs from people with a lot of money who happens to have a certain problem and hands out the contract to characters like V.
There are three distinct weapon types – Power, tech, and smart. Power as the name suggests is of the stronghold. Tech weapons help punch through walls or covers, whereas smart weapons actually track targets!
One of the major weapons comes from manufacturers Tsunami Defense – the Tsunami Nekomata. The power weapon can help you kill enemies that are hiding across walls or covers.
If you are a fan of shotguns, they got you covered there too, likely with Carnage. It can deliver some heavy damage, and if you execute well, can split your enemy in half.
There are also smart weapons like the TKI-20 Shingen. This works differently, as they track down your enemies who are hiding, running away from you, and more. You could pull off a sweet sneak attack once you find the rhythm.
Well, we did not expect to see such melee weapons in action. The Cyberware, the Mantis Blades, or the Gorilla arms are perfect for close-combat. Some could even fire projectiles at enemies, which is truly astonishing.

Finding more weapons and modifications
Well, the weapons are everywhere. You can even purchase from vendors. However, the best weapons are found from enemies or loots. Weapon ranges from common to legendary. And do note that legendary weapons come with their own perks.
There are 2 different weapon modifications in the game; attachments or software. Attachments include scopes and silencers and Software are those that improve your weapon’s accuracy, fire rate, and more. Software modification will also let your weapon deliver non-lethal or bio-chemical rounds.
