After nearly six months, Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the Playstation store on Monday, but Sony is recommending base PS4 owners not play the game. A new warning on the game’s PlayStation Page reads: ”Users continue to experience performance issue with this game. Purchase for use on the PS4 system is not recommended. For the best Cyberpunk experience on Playstation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5”. As VGC reports, the game has reappeared on the Playstation Store for $49.99.
Cyberpunk 2077 will still run on PS4, but your enjoyment may get impaired by some kind of performance issues. CD Projekt still hasn’t been able to resolve the issue despite multiple patches being released for the title. CD Projekt also commented on the availability of the game via the Cyberpunk Twitter handle. Looks like CD Projekt doesn’t want to discourage PS4 owners from playing the game. But the tweet suggests that they may want to wait for further fixes before jumping into the game.

Removal of Cyberpunk 2077 in December 2020 from PlayStation stores
CP 2077 was removed from the Playstation store in Dec 2020 because of weeks of confusion and complaints about the state of CD Projekt RED’s sci-fi RPG on consoles. CP 2077 ran smoothly enough on play station 5 console and Next-gen hardware. However, in PlayStation 4 the game was a complete mess, promoting a series of complaints and refund requests. CDPR wrote in a statement, ”Following our discussion with play station, a decision was made to temporarily suspend the digital distribution of Cyberpunk 2077”.
