Microsoft announced a change in the plans for the Xbox One, S, and X. The new subscription plan Xbox Game Pass Core will replace Xbox Live Gold. This marks a shift in Microsoft’s subscription services for console gamers. There are now 3 tiers of subscriptions including Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate.

With the change in the subscriptions, many fans are wondering what that means for Xbox Live Gold. Among these, many have questions as to which games will be available and if pre-existing subscriptions will be canceled. Microsoft has gone forward to assure players that their subscriptions are safe and will carry into the new plans.

What are the available titles on the Xbox Game Pass Core?

Xbox Live Gold was primarily known for providing access to online multiplayer gaming on Xbox consoles. With the new subscription in place, players who are subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass Core will now have access to 25+ games along with online gaming.

It is to be noted that Microsoft clarified that the games in this list may vary by region, and the library is subject to change over time.

Game Pass Core will soon replace Xbox Live Gold. Players can subscribe to the Game Pass Core for $9.99 a month or go for the annual plan of $59.99. Game Pass Core members will get unrestricted online play as well as the 25 games mentioned above.

The Xbox Game Pass remains unchanged for the most. Players still get the huge library of 100+ games to play with new games added every month. The one thing that has changed is that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will no longer be able to play online as that feature has been moved to the Game Pass Core plan.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, on the other hand, is the best of both worlds. This plan includes a directory of 100+ games, including Starfield, along with online play. Fusing the Game Pass Core with the games library of the traditional Game Pass plan.

This change is a small one, but is a huge step by Microsoft. How much it will affect the player base is something only time will tell.
