Keeping in mind the questions players may have regarding this feature, Sledgehammers Studio has recently shared vital details on the addition of Aftermarket Parts. It will allow an improved weapon functionality while representing Gunsmith’s biggest change to the weapons players are already familiar with.
“Think of them as remixes for the guns,” explains systems designer Nick Carraro in a recent blog. “It’s a way for players to come back to a weapon that they may have already mastered or played out and it’s going to give them an entirely new dimension to interact with the gun in a way that regular attachments can’t.”

There will be a Conversion Kit that players can unlock after reaching the maximum level for a weapon in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. After having access to the kit, it can be utilized to give a brand new look to a gun or pistol. In short, players will get an entirely new weapon by using the Conversion Kit. “They’re nearly a new gun. [Aftermarket Parts] are powerful, meaningful changes to these weapons”, says design director Zach Hodson.
For example, the Conversion Kit for the Renetti handgun will transform it into a full-auto Handgun similar to an SMG. As a result, players will receive an increased bullet velocity, range, and rate of fire. However, some mobility and recoil control will be lost in this process. But this example gives an idea of how Aftermarket Parts’ induction will work inside MWIII’s Gunsmith.
Expected content for Modern Warfare III upon release

Activision has already confirmed that the game will receive 16 remastered maps at launch. All of them will be available in the Multiplayer modes. To name a few, there will be Afghan, Derail, Karachi, Quarry, Wasteland, Rust, Rundown, and Scrapyard among others.
