Natus Vincere and FaZe last faced each other at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, where the latter got the best of NAVI and even won the tournament. However, the Ukrainian team had the upper hand this time, defeating FaZe 2-0.
The first round of the quarterfinal match was on the Dust2 map. FaZe could not showcase its strengths and eventually finished it with 6-16 against NAVI. Meanwhile, the second round on the Inferno map was way more disastrous for FaZe, losing 1-16.

The second round saw the dominance of NAVI, especially their ace AWPer s1mple. The Ukrainian professional gamer had 46 kills and just 21 deaths, the best stats of every gamer in that round. Undoubtedly, s1mple proved once again why he’s one of the best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players.
The first major tournament for s1mple and team without their IGL Boombl4
The biggest question for Natus Vincere participating in this tournament was who would lead the Ukrainian squad. Because the long-time IGL Kirill Mikhailov, famously known as Boombl4, was moved to an inactive roster.
The Russian professional gamer came under much heat from fans after his wife made a post that seemed in favor of Russia. So, the Ukrainian team dropped the Boombl4 from the main team to protect their reputation.
Later Mikhailov broke his silence on the issue, “I’m sorry for being silent for so long about everything that’s going on and for the inappropriate publications of my wife, Lika.” Further, NAVI asked the Russian players on squad Denis’ electroNic’ Sharipov, Ilya ‘Perfecto’ Zalutskiy, and Boombl4 to move out from Russia to continue with the team.

Perfecto and electroNic decided to move out of Russia while the future with Boomble4 is still under discussion. However, amidst all these issues, NAVI also had the BLAST tournament to think about. So, the Ukrainian team had electroNic as the IGL for the tournament.
The 2022 BLAST was the first tournament for NAVI without Boombl4 leading the team. Moreover, electroNic showcased outstanding leadership. He played a significant role in winning against FaZe Clan in the quarterfinals. After s1mple, Sharipov had the best stats in the quarterfinals.
