A new era of Counter-Strike begins

With the upcoming upgrade, many aspects of the game will be upgraded to catch the eyes of a new generation of players. With the new engine, the game will be getting new in-depth environmental physics. This will be very apparent in the smoke created by the smoke bombs and explosions.

The new smoke bombs create volumetric objects that not only interact with the surroundings but also adapt to different situations. The new ‘dynamic smoke’ will be a real-time object which means all the players will be seeing it in the same way regardless of their positions. The smoke can be interacted with by the players by passing through them or shooting at them.

Valve is also looking forward to changing some aspects of the game’s server architecture. According to the revels, CS 2 will feature a sub-tick update. This allows the server to direct the player’s movement, weapon usage, and more. Making the new Counter-Strike the most responsive online FPS in the franchise.

The cosmetics will also receive an improvement in terms of visuals. Players can carry over all of their skins and accessories from the previous game to the new one. Currently, Valve is selecting only a handful of individuals from the community based on their recent playtime and steam account standing to test the beta. The full game is expected to be released somewhere around summer this year.
