Nintendo Switch‘s exclusive Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an excellent game without a doubt. The amount of freedom and possibilities this game offers its players is just profound. It scores high when it comes to replayability too. Gamers have claimed to have spent hundreds of hours exploring this painstakingly designed world of Hyrule.

While exploring this game and completing the side quests spread across its world, sometimes fans tend to overlook some things. Some claim they have overlooked something very crucial in this sequel to Breath of the Wild.

There’s no shortage of things to do in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. There are numerous side quests that are given to players via several NPCs. There are also shrine quests that lead to the unlocking of various shrines. Then there are the sky islands that give players exciting loot when they manage to reach them.

Let’s also not forget the hundreds of collectibles, all of which give players various perks. Korok seeds allow players to increase their inventory size, and Bubbul gems allow players to purchase some exciting gear. All in all, this game is full of things to do and collect. It would be hard for players to get bored once they start playing it.

But players who have spent hundreds of hours with this title have noticed one glaring issue with it. Despite everything positive that Tears of the Kingdom has to offer, its dungeons leave much to be desired. Fans remember how they complained when the prequel, Breath of the Wild, launched. That game was similarly full of things to do, but its dungeons lacked depth. Even its legacy dungeons ended up being a bunch of barebone structures with some puzzles inside.

While Nintendo gave players caves, chasms, and sky islands in Tears of the Kingdom, they missed the mark with the dungeons and caves. Although caves do have some interesting elements, such as hidden rooms that are tricky to find, they lack what dungeons in games like Ocarina of Time had: character.

Caves and chasms of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom remind fans more of Skyrim than Ocarina of Time. Skyrim was an excellent game, yet its dungeons were pretty much the same at the end of the day. They were huge caves with a treasure chest or a shout wall at the end of them. Tears of the Kingdom’s caves also have Bubbul frogs and treasure chests.

Here’s hoping Nintendo gives players something memorable in the inevitable DLC. Even if not, it’s not as if this game is unplayable. It’s a fun game with a very small, albeit noticeable flaw.
