The hype and excitement for Pokemon Legends Arceus have increased a lot in the last few weeks, which is amazing to see for the newest entry. Critics have given it a thumbs-up as well ahead of the launch on Friday. Recently, a very popular YouTube channel put up with a video discussing why Pokemon Legends Arceus feels like it was made in 1999. Not just that, it also provided valid reasons to support the claim.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is actually from 1999!

Zach from SwitchForce presented an interesting and mindboggling argument in one of his recent YouTube videos. While praising the newest Pokemon’s gameplay changes and compelling appearance, he also expressed concern for the title.

The YouTuber said that Pokemon Legends: Arceus actually feels like it belongs to 1999, despite releasing in 2022. To back his argument, he presented some reasons that he felt made the title look slightly shallow in comparison to other Nintendo Switch games.

Zach mentioned that Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ lack of design in giving out a more broadened world might affect its popularity in the future. Yes, the title has all the qualities of giving a compelling experience. But more than that, it hasn’t introduced anything fresh when it comes to offering an ‘environment’.

Comparing it with 1999 Nintendo titles, SwitchForce channel emphasized the similarity between Arceus and the games that launched two decades ago. Simply put, Pokemon Legends: Arceus features no extra element that could add a more lively atmosphere and enhance the game’s appeal.

It just feels barren and empty and doesn’t have any new architecture in its overall design structure.
