Hogwarts Legacy would also land on the Nintendo Switch

According to a Twitter post by OJ – Player Essence, Portkey Games’ hotly anticipated title Hogwarts Legacy could even get a Switch port. This is massive news, as previously fans believed the game would only run home consoles and the PC. Significantly, the last mainstream Harry Potter game to see a release on a Nintendo console was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on the Nintendo DS.

Apart from the Lego games, the upcoming title would be the first to show some love to the Japanese video game giant’s colossal fanbase. Furthermore, the tweet also mentions that this would be a native port, as opposed to a cloud version. To be more precise…

“It looks like Hogwarts Legacy is getting a native Nintendo Switch port (no cloud version).”

For the uninitiated, the Nintendo Switch boasts both native and cloud game rendering. Essentially, this means that because of the handheld console’s limited hardware capabilities, many games run through cloud streaming.

This doesn’t tax the CPU and graphics horsepower of the Switch while presenting a smooth gaming experience. However, Hogwarts Legacy would allegedly run natively on the console, which is an exciting prospect for fans.

This ensures that their gameplay wouldn’t depend on their internet speed, which could cause vastly varied experiences depending on your region and network coverage.
