Fortnite has banned one of its most iconic game modes, and fans are skeptical about the game’s future.
Epic Games’ Fortnite stands as one of the biggest battle royales in the world. This is because it caters to millions of players spending countless hours glued to their screens. In other words, the game has an addictive nature, thanks to the use of vivid colors, high-adrenaline fights, and massive collaborations. At this point, Fortnite features all kinds of pop stars, celebrities, important figures, sportspersons, and more, all in their cosmetics store. So, fans can turn into their all-time favorites and hop on to fight for glory.
Apart from that, Fortnite has a unique matchmaking system featuring Solos, Duos, Trios, and squads. From that, the Trios’ version takes the first spot, being a part of the game’s professional side. However, Epic recently announced the withdrawal of Trios in lieu of introducing a new chapter, the next big update in the game. And SypherPK had his say in it.

Will the new Ranked Play suffice for the removal of Fortnite Trios?
Fortnite introduced Trios in Chapter 2 Season 5 as a standard format of the game. The idea was to create a similar lobby just as in Apex Legends, and turn the outlook of the game. And in months, the mode picked up the highest player count, leading it to be part of tourneys like FNCS, Arena, etc.
But as they say that everything has an expiry date, Epic decided to vault it. This is because they wanted to introduce Ranked Play, giving equal chances to all players across the globe. According to their May 17 Tweet, “the launch of v24.40, we will be vaulting the Trios team size in Battle Royale and Zero Build.”

However, the community did not react as expected as they looked disappointed in the franchise. After all, Trios remained one of the best game modes of Fortnite, where players didn’t have to think about searching for a 4th squadmate. On top of that, SypherPK also joined the gang, sharing his opinion about the same.

“I know some people are upset about this but with ranked mode coming player count could get really split and queue times could get out of hand,” he said, replying to Fortnite’s Tweet.
