PlayStation’s God of War Ragnarok has triggered significant fan anticipation over the past year. Santa Monica Studio previously delayed the much-awaited title for PlayStation consoles to 2022. However, following all the doubts and speculations, fans aren’t sure whether the studio will abide by its promise.
The current speculation suggests a November 2022 release for the action-adventure title. In fact, a report from Bloomberg had suggested a date reveal to happen by this month. However, with no signs of any announcement yet, fans are growing increasingly impatient.

Surprisingly, as fans were about to lose hope for a 2022 release, Cory Barlog came to their rescue. He addressed the date reveal delay and hinted that God of War Ragnarok’s release is on track!
Will God of War Ragnarok release in 2022?
Cory Barlog, Ragnarok’s producer, urged fans to remain patient and that he would share information as soon as possible. “I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be.” he assured fans.

Bloomberg’s report from earlier this month suggested that PlayStation Santa Monica Studios were planning a date reveal for the game in June. However, the plan appears to have been scrapped.

In fact, Cory Barlog confirmed that the date reveal will not happen today, which is the last day of June.

God of War Ragnarok went into production a long time back. In fact, Santa Monica Studio first teased the game in PlayStation Showcase 2020. Although initially slated for a 2021 release, the studio announced its delay due to the pandemic and Christopher Judge’s heath condition.
The last major update on the game was an exhilarating trailer at the PlayStation Showcase 2021. In fact, the trailer won a G.A.N.G award for the Best Game Trailer Audio.

Taking Barlog’s assurance into consideration, it’s unlikely for the team to delay the much-anticipated God of War sequel any further. However, the date reveal may not happen as soon as fans expected.
Some previous rumors suggested a PlayStation State of Play event happening in July. Like always, Sony will host a PlayStation Showcase in September. God of War Ragnarok should get a huge mention in either of those events.

As Barlog revealed, God of War Ragnarok is still on track for a 2022 release, and as Bloomberg had suggested, probably in November!
