In 2019, Remedy Entertainment made a remarkable comeback with Control. It marked the studio’s return to supernatural and creepy environments after Quantum Break. They put all the experience of Max Payne and Alan Wake into making it a very disturbing journey for players. Hence, it was no doubt a cause for celebration when they announced a sequel.
There have been numerous rumors, leaks, and even confirmations regarding this game. Fans everywhere are speculating about the direction Remedy will take with this new game. And here’s a list of every detail that fans have uncovered regarding this upcoming sequel.

When Control launched back in 2019, it became one of the first few games that supported Nvidia’s RTX to present simulated ray tracing in their game. As a result, the game looked just brilliant. Even though it made systems run hot, the game still became a standard for Triple-A games. Over time, it featured partially destructible environments, which gave the game yet another level of depth.
Alan Wake 2 also did something similar. It yet again set the standard for visuals. It features DLSS 3.5, ray tracing, and path tracing. Some even say that this might just be the best-looking game out there. It is even making some top GPUs look old.
Hence, it would not be unfair to expect Remedy to do something similar with Control 2. After all, a more expensive game deserves to look much better.
When Remedy announced control last year via an open letter to their fans, they clearly mentioned that it would have a much larger budget than the original. Remedy CEO, Tero Virtala stated, “I’m now proud to confirm that the bigger-budget Control game, also known as Codename Heron, is Control 2, a full-blown sequel to our award-winning game Control.”
When the game was announced, Rami and Raffi Galante, Co-CEOs of 505 games stated, “Control is the biggest investment 505 Games has ever made, so it has a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to the whole player community that has made Control such a long-lasting and loved game, and are even more excited to bring out Control 2.”
Maybe Control 2 players will find themselves exploring much more than just the FBC and adjacent areas. Maybe this time Remedy will also introduce yet another playable character, as they did with Alan Wake 2.

Control was not a straightforward game, nor was Alan Wake; both of them dealt with some kind of paranormal threat mixed with psychological horror. Remedy’s previously launched Max Payne also played hide and seek with the idea of psychological horror.

Hence, it was only a matter of time before the developer revealed Alan Wake exists in the world of control. They revealed it via the game’s AWE DLC. Here, Alan was featured as a mere apparition, and that was no doubt enough to hype fans up. Now that Alan Wake 2 has launched, it won’t be surprising if the infamous novelist has a longer role to play in Control 2.
