It’s official now! Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s fantasy game Elden Ring has sold 1 million units in Japan and 12 million units worldwide since its massive launch last month. The publisher recently provided a press release, revealing the major sales figures for the biggest release of the year.

Elden Ring has taken the world by storm ever since it made an anticipated debut in late February. Critics have given it great reviews, and players are also thoroughly enjoying its open world.

Elden Ring likely to make new sales records in the future

While sharing the official numbers in the press release, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware mentioned how the title has performed so far.

The game has sold 1 million copies in the Japanese market. On the other hand, it has successfully sold 12 million units globally as of March 14, 2022. The sales figures involve both the physical as well as the digitally sold copies.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is the creator of Elden Ring and also the CEO of FromSoftware. Yasuo Miyakawa is the head of its publisher at Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.

Miyazaki had this special message to thank the fans for making the game an unprecedented hit:

“It’s astonishing to see just how many people have been playing ‘Elden Ring.’ I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team.”

The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley also shared the accomplishment of the blockbuster game on his account. He also mentioned that the sales roughly translate to an earned revenue of $720 million.

Without a doubt, fans were also ecstatic to see this kind of performance from the awaited release of 2022.

ELDEN RING is now available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
